From my Candy Andy Series, a combination of styles and techniques informs this piece including early modernism, drip and pop art. The painting uses both oil and enamel based paints. The background drips are painted with enamel which has a high gloss finish, this creates a contrast with the solid unvarnished oil background that has a flat finish. The painting, in part, has to do with the transition from early modernism into abstraction and the "heroic" effort of the painters who made that journey. Year completed 2015.
